City’s Lizzie is top for Customer Service

An International Student Advisor at City University London in Islington has been selected as the best in London for customer service.

The Institute of Customer Service ran the competition during early October's National Customer Service Week to find customer-facing employees who deserve special praise for the service they deliver. Lizzie Huckle beat off stiff competition from many entries to take the top prize for London.

Lizzie was nominated by her colleague Agata Lambrechts who used testimonials from many students in support.

She said: "Lizzie is highly knowledgeable, updating herself on all the changing laws very quickly, to give her students accurate and timely answers to their very important, often complicated questions. She is a great listener, always maintains eye contact, adapts her behaviour to put students at ease, is polite and extremely patient, and gathers information and identifies issues by asking lots of questions."

Lizzie, who has worked at City for five years, said:" I was absolutely overwhelmed to have been nominated for this award, let alone to be chosen as the London Regional Customer Service Champion! It was really nice to see what my colleague had said about me. It's great to see the work that we do with the students is appreciated. "

Institute chief executive, Jo Causon, commented: "Customer service needs to be on the agenda at the very top of an organisation for it to work well on the front line. Organisations that understand and recognise this are the ones that will reap the biggest benefit."
