City Music student Dionysios Kyropoulos wins prize at City of Segovia International Music Course


by charlotte Dionysios Kyropoulos has won the prize for the most outstanding student in the speciality of the lute at the IV City of Segovia International Music Course in Spain.

Dionysios has sung with Riverside Opera, Mantissa Opera, Barefoot Opera, Rose Opera Company and Unexpected Opera. He sang in the 2009 Longborough Festival Opera production of La Bohème, and also in their 2010 Young Artists Concert.

He is currently preparing to sing the bass solos in Purcell's Ode on St Cecilia's Day conducted by Michael Sanderson and Mozart's Requiem conducted by Michael Fields.

Some of his full roles include Plutone in Peri's Euridice, Uberto in Pergolesi's La Serva Padrona, Masetto in Mozart's Don Giovanni, Simone in Puccini's Gianni Schicchi, Polyphemus in Handel's Acis and Galatea, Antonio in Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro and Badger in Janáček's The Cunning Little Vixen.
