603406Senior Lecturer in The City Law School, Dr Maria Kendrick, has been cited in a letter from the House of Lords Sub-Committee on the Protocol on Ireland/Northern Ireland to UK Foreign Secretary, Rt Hon James Cleverly MP:

“Dr Maria Kendrick, City Law School, said that the Government should explore a consensual solution to State aid and subsidy control within existing flexibilities in the EU system. They [Dr Kendrick and co-author Professor Biondi] noted that, as the EU’s system itself is not totally harmonised, a differentiated approach would be preferable”.

Dr Kendrick is numbered among a wide range of experts and Northern Ireland stakeholders who gave evidence to the Committee.

The letter summarises the findings of the Committee’s inquiry into the Bill, which was launched on 30 August.

It takes account of 11 evidence sessions held in Westminster and on a visit to Newry and Belfast, as well as nearly 40 written submissions.
