Professor Collins is in the Commission’s pool of names for appointment in a specific case or for pre-agreed lists (rosters).

Professor David Collins has been listed by the European Commission as a candidate in a pool of names suitable for appointment as a chairperson for arbitrations.

676577In December 2020, the European Commission called for applications in connection with the renewal of the pool of arbitrators and the separate pool of trade and sustainable development (TSD) experts for dispute settlement panels under trade agreements to which the EU is a party.

The Commission will draw on this pool of names to make proposals for the appointment of chairpersons for arbitrations in a specific case or for pre-agreed lists (rosters) under the relevant bilateral agreements with third countries.

Professor Collins, Professor of International Economic Law in The City Law School, is Co-Editor of  the International Trade Law  and Regulation journal and Series Editor for Routledge’s Insights on International Economic Law.

He has been a visiting academic at law faculties around the world including the Institute of International Economic Law at Georgetown University and the World Trade Institute in Bern.

Professor Collins’ research has attracted funding from the British Academy, the ESRC, the EPSRC and the Society of Legal Scholars. He is a former winner of the LCIA’s Gillis Wetter Memorial Prize.
