The webinar considered the benefits of AI in various healthcare applications.

City’s Artificial Intelligence Research Centre (CitAI) co-organised a successful webinar on 23rd June 2022 with the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM), titled, Empowering Healthcare with AI.
Experts in the area presented three different applications of AI in Healthcare indicating the current limitations without AI and the advances that have been made with AI and potential benefits for patients.
The building blocks to achieve the benefits with AI in each application were also presented.
Dr Giacomo Tarroni talked about his work on AI-based automated quality control of cardiac MR images; Dr Alex Ter-Sarkisov spoke about the application of Deep Learning solutions to the automation of chest CT scan analysis; and Dr Constantino Carlos Reyes Aldasoro gave a presentation about the analysis of cancer cells observed with electron microscopy.
Chaired by Dr Eduardo Alonso, the webinar was attended by 105 delegates and served to engage with practitioners and strengthen the relationship between City’s School of Science & Technology and IPEM.
