Bar Vocational Studies student Matthew Innes was the winner of The City Law School’s Senior Moot Final, with Lucas Jones emerging as the runner-up.

Tabitha Hutchinson and Alex Crichton-Miller were the other finalists.

The mooting standard was extremely high. Mooting coordinator, Lynne Townley said:

It was an absolute pleasure to have worked with such a talented and professional team of students. There is no doubt that they will be future stars at the Bar and all of us who have had the honour of teaching them are extremely proud.

The mooting judge for the Senior Moot was Tony Ostrin who has held a number of judicial positions over the years. He was very impressed with the standard of mooting demonstrated by the students.

The moot problem, drafted by Tony Ostrin and Lynne Townley, was on the very topical issue of the right to protest against fracking.
