City’s Students’ Union received an award of ‘Excellent’ at the Green Impact Students’ Unions (GISU) Awards

The Students' Union was also named as the most improved at the GISU Awards, bettering their score of ‘Good’ for the previous year.

The GISU Awards invited 35 Students’ Unions to demonstrate how they lead on sustainable initiatives.

Over the past year, City’s Students’ Union has been involved with impactful campaigns helping the University set out to achieve its target of reaching net zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2040; implementing a three-year plan to create a more sustainable City and launching the Sustainable Foods Campaign.

The university has worked collaboratively with the Students’ Union on sustainable objectives and committed to the United Nation’s (UN) Global Goals in a first-of-its-kind report.

In a world of rapid change where we rely on natural resources for survival, our drive in preserving ecological health and conserving the environment is fading.

Sustainability isn't just paramount to help protect the environment, but to help maintain social and economic development. It is required to sustain life on this planet and that’s why it’s a priority for us at the Students’ Union.
