The nominees for the 2017 Times Higher Education Awards have been announced.

City, University of London has been shortlisted for 'University of the Year' in the Times Higher Education magazine's prestigious annual awards.
The awards, which are in their 13th year, showcase the pioneering spirit, adaptability and quality of the UK’s higher education sector.
'University of the Year' is the flagship award and is made to the institution that demonstrated exceptional performance during the 2015/16 academic year. It is the second consecutive year that City has been shortlisted.
Research, education, access and financial performance are all taken into account. However, the main criterion will be evidence of particular bold, imaginative and innovative initiatives that have advanced the institution's reputation.
Professor Sir Paul Curran, President of City, University of London, commented:
“By the end of the 2015/16 academic year, City had implemented its innovative Strategic Plan to become a leading global university and signalled its new academic standing by joining the University of London.
“The nomination is recognition of all of these achievements which were made possible by the commitment and hard work of our staff.”
City, University of London is also shortlisted in two other categories, the Outstanding University Entrepreneurship Award and Most Improved Student Experience.
Winners of the Times Higher Education Awards will be announced at a ceremony in London on Thursday 30th November 2017.
