This is a recurring event: View all events in the series “Summer Sounds”
A showcase concert of new work by our postgraduate music students (MA and PhD), to coincide with our annual Postgraduate Research Conference, and as part of our City Summer Sounds festival 2023, comprising new composition, improvisation, performance, and live electronic work.
The programme comprises composer-performer Leo Hofmann's The Fountain, based on the notion of "invisible instruments", a live networked performance by George Speck, featuring jazz musicians in separate spaces, joined in real-time over the internet, pantea's audio-visual work Fragile Fragments, in response to possible extreme environments and ecosystems, and John Forster's Passacaglia One, an exploration of the intentional and unintentional sounds of the pipe organ.
The event is free to attend, but seats are limited, so please do sign up to attend, via the 'register now' button above.
