Are you considering a career in research? Are you graduating and looking to secure work? Would you like to learn more about different research organisations and the work they do?
From Student to Professional: Building a Career in Social Research is an afternoon discussion with quantitative social science graduates about their progression into research careers.
City Q-Step Centre alumni will share their experiences of transitioning into the workforce and offer advice and tips to those beginning a research career.
Topics will include:
- how to find and apply for work
- how academic training relates to a professional skillset
- the work undertaken in common research careers, such as analyst and insight roles.
This event aims to highlight the work of quantitative social science graduates to provide a sense of the methods and skills employed across different sectors.
Graduates will offer insights and useful tips for second- and final-year students. Represented organisations include ONS, City Students’ Union, John Ayling & Associates, and Madano.
We are pleased to feature the important and exciting work of Q-Step alumni and we hope you join us on the day.
