City’s Q-Step Centre is pleased to host representatives from the Department for Business and Trade in this introduction to the UK government’s Civil Service Fast Stream.
The Civil Service Fast Stream combines 15 specialist schemes designed to fast-track graduates into leadership positions within government. Each scheme offers a competitive salary, structured learning opportunities, on-the-job mentoring and career progression.
Attendees will hear from graduates and supervisors about the schemes’ entry requirements, the application process, the types of work undertaken and potential pathways for progression within the civil service.
Fast Stream schemes include work in Government Social Research, the Government Statistical Service and the Houses of Parliament, among others.
This is an excellent opportunity for final year students to learn about government careers.
Particular attention will be given to schemes within government social research and those that employ research skills.
Students from across the university are encouraged to attend.
City’s Q-Step Centre provides comprehensive quantitative methods training for social science students. It is located in the Department of Sociology and Criminology.
