About Ruby Colley
Ruby is a violinist, sound artist, and composer who blends instrumentation, found sound and electronics. Her work seeks to unravel the connections between nature, and classical and folk music. Her recent commission Edgeland is an audio/visual work that explores the people (including Ruby’s neurodivergent brother) and places within an edgeland near her home.
Her debut album Murmurations was released in 2010, followed by an EP in collaboration with singer Isobel Anderson, Sussex Sessions, in 2014. Her latest album, Overheard (2022), seeks to unravel the connections between human presence and nature, in response to the climate crisis. A further EP, Underheard is due for release in April 2023, bringing together unheard tracks from Ruby’s compositional repertoire.
