Wound Care management costs the UK NHS approx. £6bn per annum with 1 in 4 wounds currently misdiagnosed.
AITIS has developed AI models and explainability for hospitals to reduce this number significantly for any image and no need for any devices. It is currently undergoing clinical validation.
AITIS has also won a construction safety grant to use AI innovation to address construction safety challenges (people falling from heights and people being run over by moving vehicles on a construction site).
About the Speakers:
Sylvia Smit is a serial entrepreneur and investor. Sylvia has been in technology her whole career, initially in investment banking and then co-founded her first company, Delta Capita in 2014. After a successful exit, Sylvia founded a new company, AITIS, which focuses on AI innovation technology.
Miumiu Li and Jorge Rodriguez have both completed their MSc Data Science at CITY university in 2021 and are full-time employees at AITIS where they work on a variety of projects.
Yuichi Kuriyama, currently completing his MSc Data Science at CITY university did a summer internship at AITIS focusing on wound classification and explainability
William Guest, a student at Oxford University is doing an MSc Computer Science did a summer internship at AITIS focusing on wound classification and explainability.
