Hosted by Dr Lara Zibarras (PhD Psychology, 2010), Reader in Organisational Psychology and Dr Lynsey Mahmood, Lecturer in Organisational Psychology at City, University of London, we are delighted to invite all Organisational Psychology alumni to a networking reception, followed by presentations on careers success from the sector.
This event will give you an excellent opportunity to make new contacts and reconnect with fellow alumni from the profession, as well as academics and students.
The evening will (of course) involve the Organisational Psychology Group tradition of wine and nibbles. You are very welcome to bring a guest but please register your guest.

Speaker profiles
Adam Connell (MSc Organisational Psychology, 2019) - Senior Consultant, Q5
Adam is a Senior Consultant at Q5, a boutique management consultancy that focuses on using the art and science of organisational health to help solve challenges in businesses and organisations.
Prior to joining Q5, Adam spent several years at Sainsbury’s as an operations graduate before qualifying as an HR professional with the CIPD and becoming an Area HR Manager, responsible for stores across London.
Adam later moved into the higher education sector, where he worked in HR policy and business partnering at UCL and LSE.
Adam holds a BSc in Social Policy with Government from the London School of Economics and an MSc with distinction in Organisational Psychology from City, University of London.
For his MSc dissertation research, Adam completed an interpretative phenomenological analysis of the career experiences of gay clergy in the Church of England, which has subsequently been published in the Sexuality & Culture journal, co-authored by Dr Julia Yates.
At Q5, Adam’s clients have included Matalan, Selfridges, Kingfisher, and the NHS in Wales, working across organisational design, global reward, and lately programme management for the Covid-19 vaccination programme in Cardiff.
Sarah Bonner (MSc Organisational Psychology, 2018) - Coaching, Square Pegs
Sarah is an organisational psychologist who specialises in leadership development and executive coaching. She is an experienced consultant and advanced Hogan practitioner, who works with teams and individuals within the public and private sector in a selection, assessment, training, mentoring and coaching capacity. Sarah’s experience ranges from the design and delivery of assessment centres to implementing cultural change strategies. Sarah takes an evidence-based approach to her works, which gives her clients the reassurance that their partnership will offer positive business outcomes.
With over 20 years’ worth of experience within the creative industry, Sarah has worked with global brands managing relationships with people at all levels of seniority. Throughout her career, Sarah has always sought to understand what makes people ‘tick’, with a particular focus on team performance and inclusive leadership. Consequently, as an organisational psychologist, coach and mental health first aider, Sarah is able to help companies overcome the challenges they face in order to achieve commercial and cultural growth.
With a background in client management, Sarah understands that relationships built on trust and mutual respect lead to the best results, therefore she goes to great lengths to build a good rapport with her clients and understand their needs. In her capacity as a coach, Sarah helps people to find the confidence and inner strength to overcome their personal barriers and succeed on their own terms. Within her sessions Sarah creates a judgment-free space where individuals can think, explore their ideas and decide how to achieve their goals.
