How does your work in SASS contribute to the United Nations Global Goals for Sustainable Development?
This competition has now closed.
We are planning to run the competition again in academic year 2021-22 so please look out for details in emails, and the SASS Global Engagement newsletter.

With all the disruption that the pandemic has caused to all kinds of international activity, it has sometimes felt that the rest of the world has become very remote. Yet a post-pandemic world will have to focus on the challenges identified by the United Nations in the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
In SASS, we have always prized our commitment to global partnerships. Here is your chance to show how that commitment has continued despite Covid-19—and win a prize.
All you have to do is answer the question:
How does your work in SASS contribute to the United Nations Global Goals for Sustainable Development?
Entry Categories
The competition is open to entrants from the School of Arts and Social Sciences at City, University of London.
There are three main entry categories:
- staff
- postgraduate students
- undergraduate students
Prizes of retail vouchers will be given in each category: £100 for the winner, £50 for the runner-up.
How to enter
In a photo, short text (no more than 150 words), or one minute video or podcast, let us know how your work—teaching, research, or study—is helping City contribute to the UN’s Global Goals for Sustainable Development.
The purpose of the competition is to showcase our globally-focused work to a wider audience—so think of your entries as being addressed to an interested public rather than peers or fellow students.
Email your entry to SASSsdgcomp@city.ac.uk.
Deadline: Friday 4th June, at 23:59 BST
Winners will be announced in June or July. Details to follow.
