Dr Reiko Yoshida is the head of the Programmes and Stakeholders Outreach Unit in the Diversity of Cultural Expressions Entity at UNESCO (Culture Sector). When she first joined UNESCO in 2004, she worked as a Regional Officer for Africa and as a Communications Officer within the Secretariat of the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. Since 2011, she has been working for the UNESCO 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, developing various operational projects at the country level. She holds a BA and MA in Anthropology and a Ph.D. in Education from McGill University in Canada.
