Learning Enhancement and Development

EDM107 - Information and Communications Technology in Higher Education

This module provides an overview of the current uses of ICT in Higher Education for teaching and learning, research and administration, and explores the impact of ICT on both national and international policy-making. The module traces the evolution of ICT and its impact in Higher Education, examining the digital tools used to support teaching, learning, research and administration and the developments that might occur in the future. It provides the opportunity to critically reflect on the issues raised by the increasing implementation of ICT in Higher Education both globally and within your own discipline or environment. There are two assessments, one focused on an article and the other being a choice of a written assignment to suit your practice.

The module is worth 15 Masters level credits.

The module can also be taken as a stand-alone course by staff interested in the subject.

Fees for the Academic Practice Programme modules are waived for City, University of London staff.
