About LEaD & contact details
LEaD is made up of an Academic Team, Educational Technologists, Learning Success and the Student Counselling and Mental Health Service.
The directorate is central to the delivery of the Education and Student Strategy. We work with Schools and Services to enhance the educational experiences of our students and champion innovation in teaching and learning.
The Academic Team supports colleagues in all areas of learning and teaching including curriculum design and development, assessment, quality enhancement, innovation and educational research.
The Educational Technology Team supports the effective use of digital technologies for teaching, learning and assessment. It also works collaboratively with staff and students on a range of projects incorporating technology into teaching and learning.
Learning Success offers academic learning support to students and aims to develop students’ study skills so that they can learn more effectively. It combines the Disability Support, Dyslexia Support and Academic Learning Support teams.
The Student Counselling and Mental Health Service offers confidential, emotional and practical support to all students. It comprises the Student Counselling team and the Mental Health team.
The Support and Development Team supports LEaD in its day to day activities and leads on the organisation of events such as the annual Learning at City Conference. The support team also act as programme administrators for the MA Academic Practice Programme.
