First few weeks
Coming to study in the UK for the first time will be very different to what you are used to at home. City will organise two days of orientation for you on Wednesday 19 and Thursday 20 September, to introduce you to City, to ensure you know what to expect while studying, and to introduce you to each other and find out about the local area. Attendance at orientation is compulsory and students will need to ensure they are available on both days. The schedule for orientation can be downloaded from here.
As well as the start of the Study Abroad Programme City will be welcoming all our new degree students in the week beginning 17 September we will post a full schedule of events nearer the time.
We will send you information in July about your timetables. Classes begin on Monday 24 September, and teaching lasts until 7 December, with some exams running up until 14 December.
Although we will work with you over the summer to finalise your course schedule we have a one week add/drop period, this is particularly useful if you want to discuss your programme in person once you arrive. Add/drop will last until the end of the first week of teaching on Friday 28 September.
Finding your way around
If this is your first time in London you will need to start exploring your new home. Visit London has ideas of traditional (and some more unusual) things to do in London, and Transport for London will provide information on getting around.
