The Thalanany Award

The Thalanany award is made in memory of Elizabeth Anita Matthews, who qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist from City University in 1989 but who sadly died in 1998 well before she got the chance to realise her full potential.

Elizabeth exemplified all the excellent qualities in an SLT and the award is given to one student in each academic year who achieves the highest clinical marks over the course of their studies, marking Elizabeth's particular passion during her education at City.

The 2009/2010 winner of the Thalanany Prize was Zula Haigh.

In 2008/2009 the winner was Charlotte Lynch.

In the 2007/2008 academic year, the award was won by Rebecca Owen.
