During the COVID-19 pandemic face-to-face interviewing was suspended. This webinar describes how Understanding Society: The UK Household Longitudinal Study reacted to the pandemic, including the changes required to the continuous annual data collection fieldwork design and questionnaire content, as well as the launch of a new COVID-19 study.
About the Speaker
Jonathan Burton is the Associate Director for Surveys for Understanding Society at the Institute for Social and Economic Research at the University of Essex. He is responsible for data collection across the study, and contributes to the survey methods research of the institute, publishing articles on consent to data linkage and the use of new technologies in data collection.
