The Centre for Banking Research is delighted to welcome José Manuel Campa, Chairperson of the European Banking Authority (EBA), for a lecture about bank misconduct, banking standards and public trust in financial institutions.
José Manuel Campa is Chairperson of the European Banking Authority (EBA). He was appointed Director of Investor Relations and Analysts at Santander Bank in 2014 and has also worked as a consultant for the World Bank, International Monetary Fund, European Commission and the Bank of Spain. Between 2009 and 2011, he served as the 10th Secretary of State for Economy in the Spanish Government and remains Professor of Finance at IESE Business School.
Professor Barbara Casu is Director of the Centre for Banking Research and Professor of Banking and Finance at The Business School (formerly Cass). Professor Casu has been a consultant and visiting researcher at a number of prestigious organisations, including the International Monetary Fund, the European Commission, Centre for European Policy Studies and the Building Societies Association (BSA).
The Centre for Banking Research will also launch the CBR Conduct Costs Project at this event. This report discusses the financial consequences of bank misconduct for twenty of the world’s leading banks, from January 2008 to December 2018.
