Speaker: Professor Fiona Smith (University of Leeds)

The UK is scheduled to depart from the EU on January 31 2020. 11 days later,  at the February Food Thinkers event, Professor Fiona Smith will talk about the immediate and longer-term implications on trade law and how this will impact on the availability and cost of different types of food in the UK.

An expert in Brexit and Trade, Professor Smith will use her background in international trade law to give us a better understanding of some of the implications that the Brexit deal and subsequent negotiations will have upon what food is available, and for whom, in a post-Brexit UK.

This talk will be followed by a Q&A session, and will be chaired by Professor Corinna Hawkes.
