City Writes is City, University of London’s termly writing event, showcasing the best of City Short Courses writing talent and the Spring 2020 competition, open to all students and alumni of City Short Courses creative writing courses.
Hosted by longstanding short courses tutor, Rebekah Lattin-Rawstrone, and into its third year, City Writes provides an opportunity for the best new writers from the City Short Courses community to read an extract of their work, sharing the stage with one of our published alumni or tutors reading from a new or award-winning publication.
This term's event is on the 1st April and our guest reader is the fabulous Shahrukh Husain whose stellar career includes screenplays, plays, fiction and non-fiction. Editor of Virago's The Book of Witches, reissued in October 2019, Shahrukh Husain with be exploring the ongoing relevance of the witch and myth and fairytale in general.
