Our School Governors Network provides opportunities for members to meet up to share ideas and best practice and aims to run a termly meeting covering different topics related to governance. We want to raise awareness about the role, and inspire others to become school governors!
Volunteering as a school governor is a fantastic opportunity for personal and professional development with the opportunity to both learn new skills and utilise existing skills and knowledge in a different educational setting.
This event is for those who would like to learn more about the role and existing governors who would like to connect with others. The event will cover many topics from the basics of becoming a school governor, right through to more in-depth areas such as finance, school visits, chairing committees and how to use your volunteer leave for governor related activities.
- Introductions by Emma Boylan, chair of School Governors Network
- A talk from our guest speaker; a national leader of governance Diane Moss
- World café style interactive session, facilitated by Diane Moss, Governors for Schools, and existing members of our network.
- Networking and refreshments.
