Witness real life examples of the journey from idea to commercialisation with the Dr Tim Cooke. We will discuss the challenges, pitfalls and rewards that are out there for researchers, with top tips based on his experiences with start-ups.
Dr. Tim Cooke works at senior levels in media, software, and IT services companies. He has a Chemistry MA and DPhil from Oxford University and an MTech from Brunel University. He was an early employee with Logica, where he held numerous senior director positions in the UK and overseas.
Later, as Managing Director of Oxford Molecular Group plc, he floated this software-based drug design and genomics company. He has also floated Intelligent Environments plc, the London stock market’s first internet company and Lombard Medical, a stent development company. Tim holds a portfolio of Non-Executive Chairmanships and Directorships in early stage tech companies. He is currently Chairman of Six to Start Ltd the award winning health and fitness app company; Clarinet Ltd, a software turn round company; Thomson Screening, an optometry start-up from City University; and is a NED at Caxtonfx, the leading foreign exchange debit card company.
