Guest Speaker: Maya Lester QC (Brick Court Chambers)

Maya Lester QC (Brick Court Chambers) will deliver a public lecture at City Law School on 'Sanctions: Where Next?’. The law of sanctions is undergoing a period of considerable change. Maya Lester QC will discuss the current challenges and future directions in sanctions law.

Maya Lester completed her Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) at City Law School. Maya Lester QC has a wide ranging practice in public law, European law, competition law, international law and human rights. She founded and co-writes the sanctions law blog with over 7000 followers around the world. She represents and advises hundreds of companies and individuals before the European and English courts and has acted in most of the leading cases including Kadi, VTB, Tay Za, Central Bank of Iran, NITC and IRISL.

The event will be chaired by Panos Koutrakos, Professor of European Union Law, City Law School.
