Workshops

Public

Priority will be given to 2019 graduates who have not previously completed one of City’s career-related programmes.

Your School is sponsoring a one-day workshop to provide you with inside knowledge on how companies recruit graduates and how you can progress through recruitment processes. The session will be run by experienced graduate recruiters from Gradcore – a company that assesses tens of thousands of graduates’ applications every year for roles with major employers.

This workshop will cover all the key aspects of getting a graduate job – whether it is in a small business or on a corporate graduate scheme. The session will be led by two experienced facilitators from the Gradcore team.

What will I be doing?

  • Introduction to graduate recruitment – Outline of how graduate recruitment works, and the different pathways arts and social science graduates tend to take
  • Psychometric testing – Outline of how psychometric tests work and example tests to demystify them
  • Interviews – Understanding how to prepare for and succeed in interviews, whether they are in person, on the phone or video – including practising interview methods, and alive video interview practice session
  • Assessment centres – Outline of how assessment centres work with a practice group exercise and group-level feedback

Times: Arrive from 9.30am for a 10am start, finish by 4pm

Bring: This is an interactive workshop – bring your phone, laptop or tablet!
