This term's City Writes Event will be on 11th December 2019 and our guest readers this time are from the wonderful Story Cities anthology edited by Rosamund Davies (Novel Studio alumna) and Cherry Potts (City Short Course Visiting Lecturer). We are now seeking flash fiction submissions of 500 words or less. This could be your chance to be one of the competition winners joining the Story Cities writers on stage.
City Writes is an exciting event created to showcase the best of City’s Short Courses Creative Writing talent. Alongside a professional author from City's alumni and/or teaching body, readers are chosen from a short story competition open to all current and alumni students of City Short Creative Writing Courses.
This term's deadline for submissions is Friday the 15th November 2019. We are looking for short stories and stand-alone extracts from longer works, creative non-fiction such as travel writing and memoir, crossover or young adult fiction, but not poetry or children's fiction aimed at younger audiences. Further details and submission guidelines can be found here. Polish up your best 500 words and get submitting.
Candidates will be informed of their success at the end of week 8 (Sunday 24th November 2019).
