Research & Enterprise Lunchtime Workshops- hosting Paul Sturrock

Join us and improve your chances of winning prize money in our next Enterprise & Impact Competition (2018).
Our lunchtime workshop will cover  the topic of how to present your research.

It doesn’t matter how interesting, innovative, or important your research, if no one understands it. If you want collaborators and research funders to share your enthusiasm, you have to get their attention, and show them why they should care.

This workshop is designed to improve your chances of recruiting funding and commercial collaboration partners by improving your ability to communicate its potential for commercial impact.

Through a combination of exercises we will help you:

  1. Understand what is important to businesses and third parties.
  2. Help you describe your research in terminology they will understand.
  3. Help you pre-emptively answer the “So what” question in a way that engages their interest and curiosity.

Speaker: Paul Sturrock, Director of Slingshot Venture Development Ltd
