An Introduction to our National Rapporteurs and their FIDE Reports
The XXVIII FIDE Congress will be held in Estoril, Portugal, from 23-26 May 2018.
It is a biennial event attended by over 500 jurists. The UKAEL is the UK branch of FIDE and we encourage all our membership to attend this very important conference.
For those of you who are unable to attend the FIDE Congress, the UKAEL, in conjunction with the City Law School, London, is holding seminar.
This will be an opportunity to meet our national rapporteurs and to hear their presentations.
Part I 6.30-7.15pm: “The External Dimension of EU Policies”, presented by Professor Panos Koutrakos, Professor of European Union Law, Jean Monnet Chair in European Law, City, University of London.
Part II 7.15-8 pm: “Tax, State Aid and Distortions of Competition”, presented by
Professor Andrea Biondi, Professor of European Union Law, Director Centre of European Law, Kings College London
and Ms Kelly Stricklin-Coutinho, Barrister 39 Essex Chambers, Visiting Lecturer King’s College London.
The seminar will be chaired by Professor Phiippa Watson, UKAEL Secretary, Essex Chambers, City Law School.
