The SHS Film club is an award winning initiative in which we screen films featuring health topics and discuss the way these topics are portrayed. Our film screening for November is ‘The Divide’, a documentary telling the story of 7 individuals striving for a better life in the modern day US and UK - where the top 0.1% owns as much wealth as the bottom 90%. By plotting these tales together, it uncovers how virtually every aspect of our lives is controlled by one factor: the size of the gap between rich and poor.

There will be a panel discussion about the health topics raised in the film with Dr. Paul Godin. Paul is the author of Risk and Nursing Practice  in the series of Sociology for Nursing.

The event is free and open to all staff, students, potential students and persons directly connected with the activities of City, University of London.
