Centre for Health Service Research presents a research seminar with Dr. Simone Borsci of the NIHR Diagnostic Evidence Cooperative (DEC) London talking on evidences to support diagnostic design.
Dr. Simone Borsci, Imperial College London
Simone has a PhD in cognitive psychology and more than 10 years of experience as human factor and user experience researcher. Simone is senior researcher at the NIHR DEC London at Imperial College of London. Simone’s research focuses on interaction with devices, from the concept trough user needs and clinical pathway mapping, to the usability testing and user experience assessment of prototypes and systems. This includes finding ways new and enacted methods to rapidly and effectively assess device at different stages of development.
Simone currently collaborates with a large and dynamic group of clinicians, scientists and industrial partners to investigate how Human factors and user research can be integrated into an evidence framework for assessing in-vitro diagnostics.
The Workshop will present and discuss the NIHR DEC London approaches and methods to support innovators, researchers and manufacturers to develop new diagnostic tests and devices. Evidence generation at DEC includes multiple approaches clinical validation, health economics, decision making and human factors etc. The workshop will discuss the integration of the methods with a particular focus on human factors and the evaluation of the context of use.
Lunch will be provided from 12:45. The seminar will commence at 13:00.
