Exploring chemical restraint
Seminars
Staff; Students; Academics
Chemical restraint is considered to be of the most severe forms of coercion in mental health, and its use is strongly restricted in some countries but preferred in others where it is regarded as the best tool to manage acutely disturbed behaviour. This presentation attempts to unpack some of the issues about this form of restraint and to gain understandings about a way forward in the treatment of people with mental health problems.
