The UK premiere of Michael Pisaro's beautiful, intensely atmospheric, 'A mist is a collection of points' (2014), a one-hour piece for piano, percussion and sine waves. Kerry Yong (Apartment House, Cover Me Casio) plays piano and Jude Carlton plays vibraphone, crotales and falling grains of rice.
Pisaro is part of the 'Wandelweiser' collective of composers, a diverse, international group, whose music is magically sparse and restrained.
"I imagined a bell ringing in a ruined cathedral and raindrops falling into a pool. This is the Wandelweiser illusion: from almost nothing, vast forms arise." (Alex Ross in The New Yorker, describing 'A mist is a collection of points')
