Falling oil prices: legal and commercial considerations




Andrew Stevens (Barrister, 4 Pump Court Chamber)

Andrew Stevens is a commercial barrister instructed in litigation and international arbitrations around the world. Andrew acts in a wide range of commercial disputes and has particular expertise in energy, oil & gas and renewables. Andrew’s presentation will focus on the issues of contract cancellation in today’s oil and gas market.

Paul Griffin (Professor, Former Partner)

Professor Paul Griffin was a partner in City law firms for some thirty years and has been named Global Oil and Gas Lawyer of the Year (Who's Who Legal Awards) as well as the World's Leading Energy Lawyer Award (Expert Guides: Best of the Best). He is the consulting editor of the Globe Law and Business book Liquefied Natural Gas: The Law and Business of LNG and will speak about contract renegotiation in the oil and gas industry.

Dr. Wei Liu (Manager, Infield Systems)

Cass alumnus Dr. Liu is a manager of Infield Systems’ transaction services department, which provides both vendor and buy-side market due diligence to support oil & Gas related transactions. Dr Liu will discuss current market prospect and practice of upstream supply chain contracts.
