Cass Business School and City University London are visiting Stockholm to host an M&A masterclass delivered by Anna Faelten & Philip Whitchelo. The evening is catered for prospective students, but also Alumni from the University who will have the opportunity to get together, reconnect and answer any questions our prospective students may have. Light refreshments will be served after the masterclass.
Cass Business School has significant links with businesses. These links enable the application of Cass's academic research to important business problems. Philip Whitchelo, vice president of strategy and product marketing at Intralinks, the global market leader in software-as-a-service solutions for M&A and corporate development, will talk about two research studies recently published by Cass and Intralinks which provide new and unique insights into the relationships between due diligence, M&A and shareholder value.
Philip is responsible for the product, sales and marketing strategy of Intralinks' Strategic Transactions (M&A and Corporate Development solutions) business segment. Prior to joining Intralinks in 2010, he worked for 17 years as an M&A investment banker and in management consulting. He began his career at Deloitte & Touche in London in the financial services practice and then worked at NatWest Markets Corporate Finance, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein and in corporate development for The Rank Group Plc, as well as founding an M&A consulting firm. Philip holds postgraduate degrees in Finance, Computer Science and a BA in Linguistics, from the University of London.
Anna Faelten, a visiting M&A Lecturer at Cass and an M&A practitioner at EY London, will follow with a session on best-in-class M&A execution, drawing on her experience in dealmaking and academic research on the topic. Anna is originally from Sweden, holds a first class BSc Honours degree from City University and is a recent MBA graduate (with distinction) from Cass Business School. As part of her final year MBA thesis, she consulted the UK Government's Department for Business, Innovation and Skills on the economic impact of M&A in the UK.
