Campaign for Social Science

The Campaign for Social Science, which sprang from the Academy of Social Sciences in 2011, released a pre-election report earlier this year making the case that research, data collection and education and training in social science must be sustained. The Business of People showcases the economic and social dimensions of UK social science today and provides recommendations for the new government to consider.
Following the outcome of the general election, and ahead of the spending review, the Campaign has a robust case to make to the Treasury, ministers, MPs and policymakers to ensure adequate investment in this field. It is clear that we will need to call on the skills and imagination of well-trained social scientists to deal with the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

This event sees the end of the Campaign for Social Science’s tour of the UK to discuss what lies ahead for social scientists in the coming years. The Campaign looks forward to concluding this national debate at City on 30th June.
