Wear Green for Green City
All day

To celebrate this year's Green City Week, the City Library Environmental Group (James Atkinson, Simon Bralee, Louise Burgess, Kirsty Carr, Liam Clune, Oskar Orlygsson, Fiona Paterson, Verena Price, Sian Stanfield,  Chris Thrope and Jessica Wykes) are inviting you to wear something green on Wednesday 22nd October.  The green item could be something as small as nail varnish or as fabulous as a green satin and lace ballroom dress.  The brighter the better! There will also be a forfeit box with spare green items in it, if you forget to wear green or don't have any green items on the day.

On top of this, Library teams across the University will be organising pop-up book/DVD/magazine swap trolleys at all the sites.  If you have any books, DVDs or magazines you want to swap, then bring some stuff in and have a look.

18:30 - 20:00, Oliver Thompson Lecture Theatre

Issues such as obesity, poor diets, intensive farming and loss of natural habitat have long been issues warranting UK government and societal attention. This debate brings together representatives from the Square Meal collaboration, a collective of 10 organisations who have published a report calling for the UK government to 'fix our broken food system.' Representatives from five of the organisations, RSPB, Friends of the Earth, the Soil Association, Eating Better and the Food Research Collaboration (based here at City) will be joined by other leading experts in public health and sustainability to discuss the report and the issues it seeks to address.
