Lecture and concert to celebrate the launch of Ian Pace's new recording of Michael Finnissy's The History of Photography in Sound.
Ian Pace has an over 20-year long association with the work of Michael Finnissy. This event celebrates the released of his 5-CD set of Finnissy's five-and-a-half hour piano work The History of Photography in Sound, which Ian premiered in January 2001 in London, and has since played in Leuven, Glasgow, Montréal and Southampton.
This event will include a lecture on the work by Ian Pace beginning at 6.15pm, followed by performances of several of the individual chapters. There will be a short interval between the lecture and concert where refreshments will be available.
CDs of the work will be available on the night to buy, and the composer will be present.
