Can a partnership with a university help your business grow? Come to City University London's 'Grow your business' event to find out how we can work together to deliver best opportunities for both partners.

Join us at 6 pm for a glass of wine and informal networking with City's leading academics, local businesses and entrepreneurs, and successful investors. The evening will be hosted by Professor Dinos Arcoumanis, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, City University London.

Hear from Tim Cooke, Non Executive Chairman of a number of digital media businesses, including the thriving Six to Start, Stuart Hillston, Principal at Constellation Capital Ltd, and an Angel investor Colin Coghlan, to get a real insight into the current state and the future of the digital media sector in the UK and globally.

Speakers

Tim Cooke, Non-Executive Chairman, Six to Start Ltd

Tim works at senior levels in media, software, and IT services companies.

He has a Chemistry MA and DPhil from Oxford University and an MTech from Brunel University. He was an early employee with Logica, where he held numerous senior director positions in the UK and overseas.

He was later Managing Director of Oxford Molecular Group plc and floated this software based drug design and genomics company. He has also floated Intelligent Environments plc, the London stock market's first internet company.

Tim holds a portfolio of Non-Executive Chairmanships and Directorships in early stage tech companies. He is currently Chairman of Six to Start Ltd the award winning games company, Clarinet Ltd, a software turn round company, Thomson Screening, a recent start-up from City University London. He is also a Venture Partner with NESTA, the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts, a leading investor in early stage technology companies. He has recently joined the Board of Caxtonfx, the leading foreign exchange debit card company.

Stuart Hillston, Principal, Constellation Capital Ltd

Stuart has started several businesses and assisted in the growth of many more. His early experience was with software companies in the UK and USA, including the leading British software company of the 1980′s (Uniplex). In more recent times he has worked in investment for a family office and a fund management business and has always taken an active interest in the development of Intellectual Property. Stuart has particular interest in technology, engineering and software and has raised funds for a wide range of companies.

Colin Coghlan, Angel Investor

Colin Coghlan is a business angel and private investor, who advises both entrepreneurs and investors, and speaks on the subject at various events. Colin's early career was in the energy industry before moving to the wireless infrastructure sector. He was General Manager of one of the founding companies of the Freeview television service, before becoming CEO of one of the others and ultimately leading it through a trade sale. Colin's portfolio is focused on the TMT sector including television, mobile and cloud computing.
