Investigating Multinational Corporations: where the facts are found, and the difficulties in presentation
Speaker: Gavin MacFadyen (Director, Centre for Investigative Journalism)
Location
A130, College Building, St. John Street, London EC1V 4PB
Preview
Given their power and financial weight in society, multinational corporations receive almost no investigative attention. Despite declining regulation and ever-weakening governmental oversight, it remains one of the few areas of social life in which there is very little independent reporting. In addition, there are no longer active trade unions who were formally sources of information and labour reporting is no longer a normal beat. Corporations are able to mask their activities behind sophisticated "public relations".
Join Gavin McFadyen for a practical insight into how to investigate multinational corporations, where to find information, and what to do with it when you have it.
