This is the first of this academic year's researcher development events. This one-day conference aims to help staff and PHD students engaged in research gain new skills and give you the opportunity to network with colleagues from across the University.
The sessions will be divided into two strands - one for postgraduate researchers, the other for early career researchers. Topics include:
* preparing for your VIVA;
* working effectively with your supervisor;
* managing a research team and project; and
* getting media publicity for your research.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Sir Paul Curran will present a welcome speech on the subject of Research at City and plenary sessions will include one given by Jo Bradford, Director of Research at City University London on, 'REF: What is it and what does it mean for the individual researcher?'
