Is Ice Cream Strawberry? Journalism's invisible history - and conflicted future
Please arrive from 6pm for a 6.30pm start
Speaker: Prof. Paul Bradshaw, Visiting Professor and Online Journalism module leader
Inaugural lecture, Paul Bradshaw
Since the web was invented - and for decades before - journalists have told two stories about technology: that it will save us, or it will destroy us. Now the news industry is telling the same story to itself.
In his inaugural lecture Paul draws on journalism's past to sketch out two paths that he sees journalism taking in a decade that will redefine the profession. This is not a story about technology, but of people, institutions and their culture. And it is a future we are writing now.
