Speaker: Sara Dewson, Associate Director, Institute for Employment Studies (IES)
Sara will present the IES evaluation of the Access to Work programme commissioned by the Department for Work and Pensions and undertaken in 2008. The research examined customers' experience of Access to Work and the level of service they received and also involved interviews with Jobcentre Plus delivery staff and employers. The presentation will also include an overview of the latest research on the Employment and Support Allowance, being carried out by IES.
Sara's research skills range from a thorough grounding in quantitative analysis to extensive experience of qualitative research, both of which have been utilised in her work. Sara is an experienced project manager and has contributed to evaluation studies at local, national and international levels for key public policy clients and much of her work has centred around the issues of labour market disadvantage, disability, welfare to work policy, benefit and welfare reform, and skills.
