Today, many companies are looking to embrace collaborative innovation as a way to affordably solve their complex business problems, reduce their costs, expand their revenue or enter new markets without the need to invest heavily in R&D or as a way reducing their time to market or time to solve a problem.
Alternatively other organisations embrace it as a way of solving complex problems that they are not capable of solving themselves or to just give themselves a different perspective that can only be gained from people involved in different activities across the eco-system, including end users / consumers.
This often leads to a broad range of more successful innovations. However, this model can also be very difficult to get right, especially when organisations interact that are of different sizes, ages and cultures.
We'll explore some of the issues that can arise and ways to avoid them or overcome them.
Speaker: Danny Wootton, Innovation Director for Logica UK, responsible for innovation across all divisions and delivery organisations across the UK business The role is focussed on building strategic relationships with Logica's clients, partner organisations, academic research organisations and VCs, in order to create innovative propositions, services and business models that can create value for our clients.
The role is also focussed on the internal implementation of a consistent innovation model across the business using a network of Innovation Catalysts. This model cover all phases of innovation from searching for ideas through to prototyping and commercialising of those ideas. Part of this internal role is to facilitate the change programme to make pro-active innovation part of Logica's DNA
In addition to his Logica role, Danny also sits on the National Outsource Association Innovation Steering Committee, is a member of the CBI's Innovation Science & Technology steering committee, plus is an advisor to the board of Imprenditore PTY.
Prior to joining Logica in 2007, Danny has been involved in a range of start-up businesses and has also held director level positions in Solution and Product Management, Commercial Management, Product Marketing and Finance for global Mobile and Fixed Line Telecoms companies and other industry sector start-ups.
