Music at City University London is delighted to announce a series of free lunchtime concerts, this year featuring outstanding young pianists on the Doctor of Musical Arts programme run jointly by City University and the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, and our new DMA programme director, renowned pianist Ian Pace. This series also celebrates our purpose-built new performance space, with a Steinway piano purchased with support from the Alumni Annual Fund supported by hundreds of City alumni over recent years.

Admission is free.

Brahms Klavierstücke Op. 118Lachenmann Serynade

Recently appointed as lecturer in Music at City University London, Ian Pace has pursued an active international performing career, with concerts throughout Britain, Europe and the US. He is currently completing a monograph on Brahms Performance Practice, to be published by Ashgate in 2010-11, and has worked extensively with German composer Helmut Lachenmann, about whom he has also published three articles. Ian also takes up the role of DMA Programme Director at City.
