Series: Part of Interdisciplinary Week, 18-22 January 2010 (www.city.ac.uk/interdisciplinaryweek)

Interdisciplinary research and teaching have been major strengths at City for many years. In 2008, a strategic decision was taken to make a significant investment in interdisciplinary activity through the establishment of six new centres, which aim to develop new educational offerings, professional training and development, research and knowledge transfer. Each of these centres has the participation of several or even all of the academic Schools, focusing on a series of themes which will make a significant contribution to the University's strategic goals:

Centre for Information Leadership

Centre for Performance at Work

City Collaborative Transport Hub

Interdisciplinary Centre for Creativity in Professional Practice

Centre for Better Managed Health Care

Interdisciplinary Centre for Law, Justice and Journalism

This event will presentations from senior figures of the centres looking at their progress to date and the issues in their field that can only be addressed through interdisciplinary activity.
