Music at City University London is delighted to announce a series of free lunchtime concerts, this year featuring outstanding young pianists on the Doctor of Musical Arts programme run jointly by City University and the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, and our new DMA programme director, renowned pianist Ian Pace. This series also celebrates our purpose-built new performance space, with a Steinway piano purchased with support from the Alumni Annual Fund supported by hundreds of City alumni over recent years.

Edward Pick has performed at the Barbican Hall, LSO St. Luke’s, the Royal Albert Hall, Wigmore Hall, St. John’s Smith Square, and has broadcast for BBC Radio 3. He gained a first class BMus honours degree from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, London, under the tuition of Caroline Palmer, and a Master of Music under the tuition of Ronan O’Hora (also studying composition with Matthew King). Edward was supported by the Tobacco Pipemakers’ Company Salzman Award, and the AHRC Professional Preparation Masters Scheme. His competition successes include First Prize in the 2008 Robert William & Florence Amy Brant International Pianoforte Competition, and Managing Director’s Award in Jaques Samuel Piano Competition 2008. He is also a composer; his music has been broadcast on JCom Radio in Great Britain, and on French national radio. He is now studying for a Doctor of Musical Arts at City University and Guildhall School of Music & Drama. He has recently released a CD of the solo piano works of Otto Klemperer.
