Drupal is an open source content management platform powering millions of websites and applications. Drupal 8 has been built using the Symfony framework.
Led by an experienced Drupal professional, the course aims to teach students the fundamentals of the Symfony framework and build a website in Drupal 8.
The course aims to give students a full understanding of how Symfony works and use it to build a web application. They will also use Drupal 8 to build websites, templates, web apps and custom models and custom entities.
This course is a great follow up to Web Programming with PHP/MySQL Part 2 as students need good PHP/MySQL skills. Good (X)HTML authoring skills are also required ideally through completion of our introductory web authoring short course Building Websites with HTML5 and CSS3.
This practical course takes the form of a series of evening classes taking place once a week in our Central London location.
Students will learn principles of Symfony and how developers can create their own modules, forms and templates using Drupal 8 Hooks. Templating will be also covered in this course.
By the end of the course students will be able to use the Symfony framework to develop a site in Drupal 8.
