Drupal is an open source content management platform powering millions of websites and applications. Drupal 8 has been built using the Symfony framework.
Led by an experienced Drupal professional, the Symfony Principles and Drupal 8 Developer short course aims to teach you the fundamentals of the Symfony framework and build a website in Drupal 8.
The short course aims to give you a full understanding of how Symfony works and use it to build a web application. They will also use Drupal 8 to build websites, templates, web apps and custom models and custom entities.
The short course is a great follow up to Web Programming with PHP/MySQL Part 2 as you need good PHP/MySQL skills. Good (X)HTML authoring skills are also required ideally through completion of our introductory web authoring short course Building Websites with HTML5 and CSS3.
This practical short course takes the form of a series of evening classes taking place once a week in our Central London location.
You will learn principles of Symfony and how developers can create their own modules, forms and templates using Drupal 8 Hooks. Templating will be also covered in this course.
By the end of the course you will be able to use the Symfony framework to develop a site in Drupal 8.
Successful completion of Web Programming with PHP/MySQL Part 2 or equivalent PHP/MySQL skills and completion of our introductory web authoring short course Building Websites with HTML5 and CSS3 or equivalent (X)HTML authoring skills.
